Help improve maternity services

Join a group who help make sure services provided to pregnant and new parents are appropriate.

The Maternity Services Liaison Committee

This is a group of parents, volunteers and health professionals who meet regularly to:

  • make sure the services provided to pregnant and new parents are what they want and need.
  • listen to the views of people who use the services and make sure they are passed on to the health professionals who provide them.

Who is on the committee?

  • Local women who are expecting a baby or who have had a baby recently.

  • Partners of women who have had a baby in the past three years

  • Members of other voluntary groups who support pregnant women such as the National Childbirth Trust

  • People who work for the public health team in Lewisham and NHS South East London

  • Healthcare professionals from Lewisham’s maternity unit and the local community

How much time would I have to give up?

The committee meets every two months in the Lewisham area and a crèche is provided. The meetings are usually held in the daytime and last for approximately two hours.
