Children’s centres are places where families can access a range of services and information.

Families can access a range of services and information from health, education and social care professionals at centres across the borough.

What support is available

If you visit one of our children and family centres, you can access the following services:

  • family and parenting support, including family learning and parenting courses
  • advice on early years education, childcare, and eligibility for two and three year free early education and childcare
  • child and family health services, including baby hubs and breastfeeding support
  • volunteering and getting ready for work, including links to Jobcentre Plus
  • children’s information services and schools
  • drop-in services covering health, education and a whole range of other areas such as debt management, counselling and SENDIASS.

Health visiting service

Health visitors are registered nurses or midwives who work with children up to the age of five. They hold clinics at some children and family centres in the borough. Get more information about health visitors.

Children and family centre locations

Children and family centres are distributed across four service areas in the borough. Each service area has one or more children and family centre. You can use any of the children and family centres across the borough.

Hubs and delivery sites

Lewisham children and family centres are organised into 5 main ‘hub’ sites.  At our hub sites you will find a wide range of services, sessions and programmes and at our delivery sites a smaller range of sessions will be available.
