Lewisham is a smoke control area

Lewisham Council is reminding residents that, under air pollution laws, it's illegal to burn coal or wood in an open fireplace unless the fuel is smokeless.

New move to increase recycling

Until the end of February, recycling advisors will visit 30,000 homes on Lewisham’s housing estates and blocks of flats, to help and encourage residents to recycle more.
