Local libraries
There’s not much you can’t do at a library and best of all, the service is free!
You can borrow books, CDs, DVDs and even PlayStation games, and make use of a wide range of facilities, including fax, photocopying and free internet use.
Librarians can help you with virtually any research, from looking for a job to choosing a university, finding out about local history or compiling a family tree.
Here you can find out what’s on offer at each of Lewisham’s 12 libraries or renew your books and search the catalogue online. You can learn about the children’s library service which provides books and talking books, study materials and activities such as story times, homework clubs, craft workshops, quizzes and competitions.
You can find out about the borough's past and your history, plus details of our Home Library Service.
We also have a 24 hour library you can access from home, work or place of study providing 13 specialist resources and an online enquiry service. You can also sign up for email reminders for your library loans.
