Are you a lone parent, aged 50 plus or on incapacity benefit and living in the borough of Lewisham? Do you want help to develop the skills and confidence to succeed in work or learning? Could you benefit from personalised support to help you move forward?
The Opening Doors 2 Work project aims to provide you with friendly careers advice and support you into employment or further training.
We can offer you free:
- IT training – learn how to use Microsoft Word and Excel for the world of work
- job search resources – access to the internet, newspapers and information and advice about jobs and training
- job search support - learn how to surf the net, send emails, apply for jobs online and register with job agencies
- help with producing your CV and application forms
- interview practice with experienced staff
- confidence building and presentation skills
- access to professional careers advisers who will mentor and support you to achieve your goals
- job brokerage – get access to real jobs
- possible work placement opportunities.
Are you eligible?
Yes, if you meet all of the following criteria:
- Lewisham resident
- unemployed but not on New Deal and looking for work or further training.
And one of the following:
- A lone parent or
- in receipt of incapacity benefit and wanting to return to work or further training or
- aged fifty plus.
