Welcome to Lewisham Council’s environment homepage. Your Council is committed to making Lewisham a cleaner, safer and more attractive place to live and work. This includes reducing waste and pollution, responsible planning and sustainable development.

We have been declared a Beacon Council in recognition of our excellent sustainable energy work. We are one of the largest users of renewable energy in Western Europe and currently recycle and compost over 20% of the borough's household waste.
