Find out what support we can offer to young people leaving care.

About our local offer for care leavers

This leaflet is designed to help people leaving care:

  • see what support they are entitled to
  • make the most out of the services available to them
  • transition into adulthood and independence.

Who can get the support detailed in the leaflet

To qualify for the support set out in the leaflet you must have been in care:

  • for at least 13 weeks between the ages of 14 and 16 (including your 16th birthday), or
  • for 13 weeks after your 16th birthday.

What information is in the leaflet

In the leaflet you will find information about:

  • your personal adviser
  • advocacy and rights
  • accommodation
  • education training and employment
  • health and wellbeing
  • finances
  • relationships
  • participation in society
  • other organisations and resources to help you.

Working in consultation with care leavers

Our local offer has been designed in consultation with care leavers and young people in care. The consultation is ongoing and we will adapt and develop our offer in response to this consultation.
