Lewisham Council - LDF evidence base

Local Development Framework evidence base

The preparation of each Local Development Framework (LDF) document, particularly the Core Strategy, relies on a number of documents to justify the strategy and approach being put forward. This is known as an evidence base and forms part of the basic structure of the LDF process.

In this section

Government guidance as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework, paragraph 158 requires the local planning authority to use a proportionate evidence base and ensure that the Local Plan is based on adequate, up-to-date and relevant evidence about the economic, social and environmental characteristics and prospects of the area.

The evidence base has been grouped into the topics listed above.
