Join the library

Joining the library is simple and free. You don’t even need to live in Lewisham. If you're under 16 you'll need a parent or guardian to sign as well.

Why join?

Your library card gives you free access, from anywhere and at any time, to a wealth of online encyclopaedias, dictionaries, news stories and other reference tools.

More benefits for under 14s

  • Free reservations - if you're under 14 you can reserve items that are on loan or at another library, absolutely free.
  • No fines - likewise, for under 14s there are no late fees.

Get online with free internet access and wi-fi

All Lewisham's libraries have computers you can use for free.

You can also bring your laptop along and use our free wi-fi at all of our libraries.
