Lewisham Council - Fordham Park

Fordham Park

Fordham park in New Cross underwent a full regeneration in 2010 when new lighting, trees' planting, furniture and play elements were added to the park.

The park forms part of the North Lewisham Links Programme that connects people to safer walking and cycling routes in the north of Lewisham. It is open day and night and forms part the first key route that connects people from Hatcham Gardens through to Deptford Town Centre park.

Fordham park sits between two schools, Childeric primary school and the new Deptford Green Secondary School. The introduction of new play elements for all ages and families has helped to bring communities together, play elements set in an open natural environment include an under 6 play area within a sand pit, for older children, a huge climbing frame, youth shelter, table tennis tables, an area for ball games and a trim trail. The park also has an informal football pitch in the centre of the park.
