Musical Theatre Short Course

21 October 11am to 1pm

Each week students will learn techniques in acting, singing and dancing by front-line west end practitioners giving students an understanding of international musical theatre techniques.

Screenplay: the Theory and Practice of Film Programming

21 October 1pm to 4pm

Over 12 weeks develop your skills to curate, produce and promote film programmes for cinemas, festivals and outdoor events.

Saturday Mandarin Chinese for 12-16 Year Olds.

21 October 1:30pm to 2:30pm

This course will introduce 12-16 year olds to the study of Mandarin Chinese. The course will centre around fun language activities and help students to work towards YCT and HSK certificates.

Saturday Mandarin Chinese for 6-11 Year Olds

Saturday Chinese Martial Arts for Children

21 October 2:45pm to 3:45pm

This course introduces children to the basic skills of Chinese martial arts, giving students an understanding of Chinese culture and enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing.

Saturday Chinese Dance for Children

21 October 2:45pm to 3:45pm

This course combines dance with Chinese song and traditional etiquette education to give children a fun and well-rounded experience of Asian culture.

Chinese Martial Arts for Adults: Kung Fu  Free

23 October 5:30pm to 7pm

Increase your strength, flexibility and coordination through the ancient martial art of Kung Fu. Learn traditional Chinese martial arts movements and techniques that can help towards health and fitness whilst being a fast and controlled sport.

Chinese Martial Arts: Tai Chi Free

23 October 7pm to 8:30pm

Tai chi is renowned for its positive energy and controlled movements and has become ever increasingly popular in western culture. This course teaches the various forms, movements and exercises of this tranquil and relaxing yet effective martial art.

Chinese Classical Dance for Adults Free

24 October 5:30pm to 7pm

Chinese classical dance has a unique identity and style, with refined and sophisticated characteristics. It is a creative expression and embodiment of Chinese culture and is a part of the heritage that has been passed down throughout Chinese history.

Chinese Martial Arts for Adults: Qigong

24 October 6pm to 7:30pm

Chinese yoga, known as Qigong, is a form of exercise that has its roots going back thousands of years. Qigong focuses on gentle, meditative flowing movements and stretches in order to harmonise the body and mind and bring oneself into a state of balance.

Chinese Folk Dance

24 October 7pm to 8:30pm

China has many regions where ethnic minorities have their own signature dance and some of these will be explored during the course. Students will be taught folk dance choreography and traditional movements.

Learn Chinese Music: Erhu (Chinese Fiddle) Free

25 October 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Most famously used in the soundtrack to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the Erhu is a stringed instrument with a beautiful sound quality. This course is for anyone with an interest in music; our music instructor will guide you through the basics.

Dance for Health and Wellbeing (Chinese Yoga)

26 October 5:30pm to 7pm

Based on the principles of Chinese dance and traditional Chinese healthcare beliefs, this dance is intended to not only give students a fun way of keeping fit with exercise, but will also promote your general wellbeing and health.

Asian Contemporary Dance

26 October 7pm to 8:30pm

This course is for those with previous dance experience who wish to gain a knowledge of and experience in Asian Contemporary Dance. This course will look at the styling and movement performed by current dancers from Asia today.
