Gambling and lottery licences

From 1 September 2007, gambling operators will be subject to the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice from the Gambling Commission.

The act allows the commission to issue operating and personal licences. Premises licences will be issued by the council.

What constitutes gambling?

Gambling includes activities such as:

  • gaming machines
  • betting
  • lotteries
  • bingo
  • casinos.
