The Young Mayor for 2011-2012 is Kieran Lang and the Deputy Young Mayor is Chezney Speed-Skyers. The Young Mayor is in office for one year and has a budget of £30,000 to spend on things to make life better for young people in Lewisham.

Lewisham has the longest established Young Mayor scheme. It was started in 2004 by Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham.

The Young Mayor is supported by a dedicated Young Advisory Group. Members are drawn from a variety of community and young people's groups.

All have a chance to influence and advise the adult Mayor and Cabinet.
