Local Labour and Business Scheme

The borough is changing: new homes, new schools, new leisure centres, and much more. All this means real opportunities for local residents and businesses.

Over the next few years, thousands of new homes will be built, the redevelopment of large areas of land will help to create new public amenities, and improvements will continue to be made to the borough’s infrastructure including public transport.

Our Local Labour and Business Scheme aims to help local residents who are looking for work and/or skills-related training in construction or related industries, and local businesses who are hoping to win contracts with larger firms operating in the borough.

As well as supporting residents and businesses, the Local Labour and Business Scheme also helps developers, contractors, service providers and suppliers to fulfil their planning, contractual or social responsibility obligations regarding local labour and business opportunities.
