Lewisham Council - PLACE Deptford

We will be consulting in spring 2017 on creating a pop up village in Deptford, modelled on the award winning PLACE/Ladywell scheme.

This project is in its very early stages and we will be running a public consultation that will give residents the opportunity to feed into the design process.

What would be on the site?

The scheme could provide temporary accommodation for up to 30–35 homeless families, and community space on the ground floor. We would like to consult residents on what they would like the community space to be used for.

Using offsite construction method the building can be assembled on site and deconstructed and moved at a later date if it is no longer needed in the area.

Where will it be?

The building will be on the former location of Deptford Green School’s Ball Court.

We would like to hear your views, so please look out for our consultation in autumn 2017. Sign up to our mailing list to get regular updates on PLACE/Deptford.

PLACE/Ladywell is an award-winning housing scheme for 24 homeless families, affordable work space for small businesses and a community café.

It has won ‘Best Housing Initiative’ at the 2017 LGC Awards, ‘Best Temporary Scheme’ at the 2016 New London Awards and Mayors Prize at the 2016 New London Awards.
