NPLQ course 16+

Downham Health & Leisure Centre 24 August 8am to 5pm

Week-long lifeguard course to qualify you to become a lifeguard. Candidates must be 16+ and be able to swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds and swim 100 metres consistently.

Sessions for older people aged 55+ to enjoy sports and activities they may not usually take part in (Boccia, short mat bowls, walking football, athletics, tennis, netball). There is also a break for teas and coffees!

Join us in the children’s library for a session of songs, nursery rhymes and stories for 0-2 year olds. Everyone welcome, no need to book.

Sessions will be family fitness sessions with the Change4Life 10 minute Disney shake up added in!

History 

Downham was mostly farmland until the 1920s with a rifle range that was close to today's Rangefield Road. London county Council bought the farmland between 1920-23 and built two-storey brick houses with gardens.
