Quick guide to the festival
Enter People’s Day via Brownhill Road, George Lane or Carswell Road (stairs at this entrance). There is no pedestrian access from Stainton Road and the only available parking is for blue badge holders.
Mountsfield Park is divided into four colour areas for People’s Day and each area has its own particular vibe. Look out too for entertainers such as Ms Chameleon's gramophone, Bro Fitness and Flowers on Stilts around the park during the day. You will find the line up for each stage on the different colour area pages. Food and refreshments are available all over the park.
Most of the community and voluntary organisations are in the yellow area but check the list for their correct location.
A BSL interpreter will be in the park from 12 noon–6pm. If you would like to contact them, go to the Info point in the yellow area.
Download the timetable and map to plan your day.
Reach the blue area by the Carswell Road entrance. Here you will find the high energy Dance for Life stage as well as the Fusion Sports Arena with lots of different taster sessions. Take on the FA and Millwall with your football skills or duck and dive with Double Jab boxing taster sessions and don't forget to check out college opportunities at LeSoCo.
The green area is near the George Lane entrance. Wander through this area for the Library Service marquee, an area specially for the under 5s – complete with baby changing and breastfeeding facilities. Here too is The Bandstand and don't miss Compost Mentis, the talking compost heap. In the evening, relax to mellow sounds as the Under 5s area gives way to Festival Folly with singer songwriters and spoken word.
Further on in the park (and not far from the Brownhill Road entrance) is the yellow area. Here you will find not only The Big Top, the Voice and Drum stage and the Lewisham Music Hub stage but also the carousel and big wheel as well as lots of community stalls and voluntary organisations and of course a funfair especially for the children. Drop in to the Health Improvement Team tent for a quick health check and you might even try to bake your own bread courtesy of Chartwells.
The red area is home to The Stage Bus, the Youth Village and the L&Q Housing marquee where you can find out about training opportunities. The craft market is always popular in this area as is the Safer Lewisham tent and the historical vehicles display. Lebara will be hosting a penalty shoot out too and look out for more great funfair rides.
You’ll find international food and drink stalls as well as toilets all over the park. Wander round the park and look out for walkabout performers, surprising art installations and a host of entertainers.
Mountsfield Park is situated between Catford and Hither Green. Please walk, cycle or take public transport to the park as there is parking only for blue badge holders.
