Regeneration
Deptford and New Cross
Lewisham town centre regeneration
Sydenham high street
Regeneration
The borough is undergoing its biggest transformation since Victorian times, with unparalleled levels of investment - from both the public and private sectors - meaning significant regeneration and renewal for many of our communities.
Regeneration strategy 2008-2020
Areas of regeneration
Deptford and New Cross
The Deptford and New Cross transformation includes a redevelopment of industrial site, plus improved pedestrian and cycling routes.
Lewisham town centre
New homes, shops, offices, venues and a new road layout for the town, in recognition of its significance within the Thames Gateway.
Sydenham high street
A scheme of works making the main shopping road a friendlier place for pedestrians while still allowing traffic to flow.
Schools building programme
We are spending £320m on rebuilding or refurbishing all secondary schools, four primary schools and six SEN schools.
Leisure centre developments
Our programme of development includes Forest Hill Pools, Wavelengths Pool, and a new leisure centre in Lewisham town centre.
