Safer Travel at Night is an ongoing campaign involving the GLA, Transport for London and the Metropolitan Police.
Initiatives to make London safer to travel at night include: more night buses and night bus routes than ever before, making taxi touting a recordable offence, two marshalled taxi ranks and the launching of the Transport Operational Command Unit (TOCU) – a dedicated Police unit set up to target crime relating to bus services and minicab activities.
Safer travel tips
- for information about your quickest route home by licensed minicab, night bus or tube call Transport for London travel information on 020 7222 1234 or visit the Transport for London website.
- always check that a minicab driver knows your name and destination before you get in the car. Sit in the back and carry a mobile phone.
