Business permits are available to employees of businesses located within one of the borough’s controlled parking zones (CPZ). They permit the holder to park in designated 'Business Permit Holders Only', or in dual or triple use bays.
You will need to provide a letter from your employer on headed paper including the registration number of the vehicle. Business permits are £300 per annum or six-monthly for £165.
The increased cost of the six months permit reflects the increased administrative costs of issuing permits six-monthly. This is inline with Government policy. The reasoning behind this is that the space available for parking on local roads is limited and it must be properly managed if it is to support the local economy to best effect.
To ensure that space is readily available for clients, people that choose to commute to the area and occupy valuable parking space for lengthy periods should be discouraged from doing so.
Similarly a business permit entitles the holder to park in any business bay in the zone.
