The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative, run by the Association of Chief Police Officers, aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.
Safer Parking status is awarded to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment that is conducted by the Police.
This status means that the parking operator has, where necessary, put in place measures to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour. It means that they are doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their facility.
For customers, using a Park Mark Safer Parking facility means that the area has been vetted by the Police and has measures in place in order to create a safe environment.
The following car parks in Lewisham have been awarded Park Mark Safer Parking status:
- Slaithwaite
- Clarendon
- Holbeach
- Thomas Lane
- Blackheath Station
