Who Do You Love? Business Award 2010

Who Do You Love? 2009 winner David Rundel, with Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock

The Lewisham Business Awards' 'Who Do You Love?' competition is back for its sixth year. It will run from 1-28 February 2010.

The competition aims to find the best shop or independent business in the borough, as voted for by Lewisham residents, shoppers and workers.

Lewisham’s Mayor Sir Steve Bullock said: “This is a great way for local people to recognise what’s on their doorstep and show their appreciation for their favourite local business. It helps raise awareness of the huge diversity of local entrepreneurs across the borough."

The winner will be announced at the Business Awards ceremony on 11 March 2010 at Blackheath Halls.

Last year's 'Who Do You Love?' winner was David Rundel, the man behind the German sausage stall in Lewisham Market. He said: "Winning the award last year was wonderful – I couldn’t believe it! It was brilliant to get this kind of recognition from my customers and since winning the award my customer base has increased considerably as a result of all the publicity."

Residents can vote online, by email or freepost voting card. To vote, either:

For the purposes of the competition an 'independent business' is one that has no more than nine outlets in its chain. Examples of businesses that can be voted for include hairdressers, florists, cafés, restaurants, pubs, estate agents, DIY shops and corner shops.
