A three-day celebration of international cuisine is set to tickle residents taste buds at the borough’s markets from 5 October.
The markets will also be transformed into a display of flags and emblems, traditional music and costumes from around the world.
Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, said: “This is a great opportunity for everyone to sample some of the world’s most famous culinary delights and get a taste of those authentic flavours.”
The international market celebrations will run from 9.00am to 5.30pm on the following days:
- 5 October 2006 – Catford Broadway Market
- 6 October 2006 – Deptford High Street Market
- 7 October 2006 – Lewisham High Street
The confirmed list of stallholders are:
- Abel Ltd – cheese, Brittany biscuits, Turkish delights
- Levy Laurent – sweets, pralines, soaps and lavender products
- Mangofood Distribution Ltd - dried fruits and olives
- PBO Ltd – dried sausages and French wine
- Duclos Dolores – tartiflette
- Le Fournil Ltd – pastries and croissants
- Crepes Express Ltd – crepes
- Rouviller Guy – objects and souvenirs from France
- Mister Georges – German sausages
- Dubois Christian – hand crafted wooden objects
- Design Drinx – Swedish handcrafted objects
