Sydenham clean-up event: Tuesday 10 June

As part of Lewisham’s continued drive to make sure the borough’s environment is clean and tidy, another clean-up event is taking place in Sydenham.

Councillor Susan Wise, Cabinet Member for Customer Services, said: “Lewisham is recognised as one of the cleanest borough’s in London. Last year we were runners-up in the Cleanest Borough competition, which recognised the hard work and enthusiasm that Lewisham residents and staff put in to keeping our borough clean."

“Local clean-up events like these are a fantastic way of promoting a feeling of ownership and pride in our local community.”

Residents can join the clean-up event, which will include clearing pathways, removing overgrown vegetation, graffiti removal, fly-posting removal, clearing litter.

Date: Tuesday 10 June
Time: 10.00am to 2.00pm
Location: Girton Road, SE26 (near Somerfield store goods entrance)
