An opportunity to comment on the new proposals for Forest Hill Pools is being made available to the people of the borough via the Forest Hill public consultation.
Three conceptual redevelopment options for the site have been produced reflecting varying levels of housing and leisure provision and the council is asking:
- What the public think of the designs
- What activities the public think the new leisure centre should offer
- Which of the three development options the public prefer.
There are three ways local people can participate in the consultation. They can:
- View the display options and talk to council staff at Forest Hill Town Centre (Outside WH Smiths/ Forest Hill Station) on:
- Friday 18 July, 3.00pm - 7.00pm
- Saturday 19 July, 9.00am - 2.00pm
- Visit Forest Hill Library on Dartmouth Road to view the options and fill in a feedback form between Monday 21 July - Friday 8 August (visit www.lewisham.gov.uk or call 020 8699 2065 for opening times)
- View the options online and take part in a survey from Monday 14 July at: www.lewisham.gov.uk/foresthillpools
Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, said: “It’s really important that local people get involved in this consultation right from the beginning to let us know how they would like this space to be developed."
“The council is investing in expanding and improving its swimming pools and our aim is to have five top-class swimming facilities in different parts of the borough for everyone to enjoy. For this to be achieved local input is vital and that’s why we want as many people in the Forest Hill Pools area to get involved in this consultation."
