Volunteering
Volunteer Centre Lewisham
Volunteer Centre Lewisham is the volunteer development agency for the London Borough of Lewisham.
VCL can help you if you want to volunteer in Lewisham, or if you want to find volunteers for your organisation.

Lewisham leisure centre buddy scheme
This innovative volunteer scheme was launched in September 2007.
It enables individuals and community groups to book a tour of the leisure facilities in their area, helping them to discover the wide range of activities and events available.
The leisure centre buddy scheme is looking for people to volunteer for a few hours a week or month. Any volunteers are warmly received, but specific skills such as the ability to speak different languages, including sign language, would be appreciated.
Volunteers receive:
- specific training provided by the Amateur Swimming Association, Volunteer Centre Lewisham, and the leisure centres themselves
- a uniform
- free access to an activity of your choice, provided by Parkwood Leisure and Leisure Connection.
