This is the largest green space in the borough covering 96 hectares, with large areas of ancient woodland ideal for informal woodland walks. The park is an important wildlife site and it also makes up part of the South East London Green Chain Walk and the regional Capital Ring. Tennis, golf and football are all played here and the Mansion House, a Grade II listed building, houses the golf clubhouse.
The 'Friends of Beckenham Place Park' arrange a number of events in the park, including walks and talks. For more information visit the Friends Visitors Centre inside the Mansion on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm or telephone 020 8325 8781.
The golf course is an 18 hole (par 69) municipal pay and play course. 18 hole and 9 hole tickets can be bought at the pro shop. Advance bookings can also be made by telephone on 020 8650 2292. If you are interested in improving your game contact the PGA professional at the course for tuition. Other services available include a retail store, club, trolley and buggy hire, cafe and bar. At the eastern section of the park is a new children's playground boasting an interactive water play feature popular with youngsters during the summer months.
The park is a 'key' park and is patrolled by on-site park keepers.
