A mix of permanent exhibitions and regularly changing collections and events, the Horniman is the place to go for a wider appreciation of the world and it’s people, cultures and environments.
They house the first permanent exhibition in Britain dedicated to African art and culture, African Worlds. Their Natural History collection takes you on a journey from fossils to the modern day, through evolution and extinction – including more than 250,000 specimens – while their newly refurbished Aquarium will make you feel like you’re in Britain by the pond one minute and tropical Fiji the next.
The Museum Gardens offer stunning views of London amidst beautiful formal and natural landscapes. There is also a small animal enclosure, nature trail and music performances in the summer months.
