Copying facilities
The Local studies centre has a Select photocopier which will make A4 or A3 copies and has a facility for copying tightly bound volumes. Copies can usually be made on the spot. A colour photocopier is available in Lewisham library. Colour photocopies can be ordered where the copying process would not damage original material.
There are two microprinter-readers on which copies can be made from film and fiche. (Appointments advisable.)
A photographic service is also available. Reproduction fees are charged, but may be waived in the case of non-commercial organisations.
Talks and lectures
Talks and lectures can be given to local groups at the centre or outside. These are normally illustrated with slides. Where talks are given at the centre, other material from the collections can be used to illustrate them. However, because of a reduction in staffing, we have to place some limitations on the provision of talks to local groups. Only one talk a year can be given to any one group. We have a repertoire of standard talks. A group requesting a talk outside our standard range will need to give us six months notice. We are only able to give talks when staffing levels permit. We can bring a carousel projector, but it is helpful if groups can provide a screen or white wall.
Slides
Slides from our collection may be loaned to recognised local organisations. Other materials are not loaned.
