Oct-Nov 2006
Initial plans are presented at four public events in which residents express their overwhelming support for the current scheme.

Nov 2006
English Heritage comments positively on the plans presented for the renovation of this 2 star listed building.

Dec 2006
Mayor and Cabinet approved the tender shortlist of six specialist contractors to carry out the refurbishment works of the Manor House in Lee.

Feb 2007
Plans are submitted to planning for the formal building consent.

Jun 2007
Mayor and Cabinet approved a report on the Manor House Project and commits the design to planning application following formal proceedings.

July 2007
Formal planning meeting with local residents. There is clear support for the present scheme.

August 2007
Consultation with residents starts on the layout of the library.

September 2007
Plans go to the Planning Committee.

December 2007 
The Manor House Library building is temporarily closed to the public to provide contractors full access to carry out an extensive range of building improvements. 

What will the refurbished Manor House be like?
This ambitious but realistic plan makes the building accessible to all members of the community including parents with pushchairs and wheelchair users. The plan includes the installation of a main lift in the building making all floors accessible for the first time. Other improvements will deliver an additional IT training suite, an Audio Visual suite, meeting rooms and classes, improved toilet facilities and a crèche.

'This is excellent news' commented Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock, 'residents of Lee will have many more opportunities to use Manor House for learning, accessing information, reading for study and leisure, and enjoying this much loved building'.
