Lewisham reference library

We are open seven days a week with trained staff on hand to answer your enquiries using a wide variety of resources including hard copy, internet and specialist electronic resources.

Opening hours

 Monday  10am - 8pm
 Tuesday  9am - 8pm
 Wednesday   9am - 6pm
 Thursday  9am - 8pm
 Friday  9am - 6pm
 Saturday  9am - 5pm
 Sunday  1pm -4pm

General, business and local and national community information are all available. We also take a full range of national and local newspapers and magazines. See below for the full list of the periodicals we take.

We are accredited providers of European information and services to support job seekers.

Find us on the second floor of Lewisham Library.

A 24-hour library service

During library opening hours you can contact us by email, fax and telephone.

For an out of hours service you can use Enquire - the national online chat service, available at the People's Network.

We also purchase web services for you to use at home, work or place of study. See online services for more information.

The library has:

  • extensive bookstock
  • current and backdated newspapers and magazines
  • access to local planning applications
  • 48 study spaces
  • free bookable internet access for reference enquirers (six terminals)
  • colour and black and white photocopiers.
  • full disabled access via lift.
