You can renew books, language courses and music CDs with your library card by visiting any library in the borough, on the web via Lewisham's Library and Information Portal or over the telephone.
You can do this twice and after this period all items must be seen before they can be renewed again. Language courses can only be renewed for one month at time. You cannot renew an item if it has been requested by another library member.
Playstation games, videos, DVDs and CD-Roms cannot be renewed or extended and must be returned to the issuing branch. If you fail to return one of these items on time you will be charged a repeat hire fee for the entire loan period, up to a maximum of £15.00 per item.
Your library membership allows you to borrow:
- 12 books (for 3 weeks)
- 6 CDs (3 weeks)
- 1 language course (45 days)
- 3 videos or DVDs (3 nights or 1 week)
- 1 Playstation game (1 week)
- 2 CD-Roms (1 week).
If you want to keep books, music CDs or language courses longer you need to extend their loan period.
If you fail to extend the loan period for a book, language course or music CD you will have to pay a fine of 10p for every day the item is overdue. Half rates apply for those aged over 60, no charges apply for children under 14 years of age.

Items can be renewed over the telephone, by visiting your local library or on the web via Lewisham's Library and Information Portal.You will need your library barcode number and your PIN. To get your PIN please contact your local library.
