Library facilities

The libraries in the borough of Lewisham offer a wide selection of services. These include lending books for adults, young people and children, large print and talking books, CDs, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and Playstation software, study areas and support plus photocopying facilities.

All libraries have a free internet service and there are learning centres in three libraries. There is a web catalogue of all Lewisham stock in every library, a resource centre for computer training and homework clubs.

We also have a well-stocked reference library and local history and archives centre, with information about the borough. The tourist information centre is housed within Lewisham library. Some libraries offer meeting rooms and exhibition space for hire. Other libraries offer fax and photocopying facilities. Some of our libraries have a Tellytalk facility to contact other council departments and non-council services.

We provide newspapers and magazines in a number of languages in all our libraries for members of the public to come in to relax and read.

The library also provides local information, community information, information on council services and tourist information.
