The Time Traveler's Wife at Lewisham Library Reading Group

Love reading? Enjoy discussing books? Then come along to Lewisham Library's Reading Group. We meet on the first Saturday morning of each month. At the next meeting we will be discussing Audrey Niffenegger's phenomenally successful novel, now a hit film, The Time Traveler's Wife. Refreshments provided.

Twin book launch: Nadifa Mohamed's Black Mamba Boy and Mark Kelly’s Pleased as Punch

Nadifa Mohamed's stunning debut novel is based upon the story of her Somali father. It offers a unique journey across the countries of East Africa against the backdrop of World War Two as well as a well-told tale of friendship and hope. Mark Kelly’s poetic and darkly humourous novel about an ageing Punch & Judy man, partly set in Lewisham, is a self-published project with a YouTube site and blogs. Under One Flag book launch

Prince Harry's foreword outlines the importance of Erica Myers-Davis' new book. 'The stories told in Under One Flag are rarely heard, but they should be.' An outstanding selection of hidden histories evidencing the vital contribution of those from the Commonwealth and British Empire who volunteered during World War II. Signed copies available on the night.

Unity Coffee @ Lewisham Library opens

Lewisham Library has a new cafe, as Unity Coffee @ Lewisham Library opened on 1 December. The café provides a range of hot organic and Fairtrade beverages and an array of homemade cakes and pastries. Sandwiches and a dish of the day served with a selection of seasonal salads are also available for eat in or take away. The café is run by the Camden Society, a social enterprise providing jobs for local people with learning disabilities.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme

Baby Bounce and RhymeBring your baby along to Lewisham library on Thursday mornings or afternoons and join in the fun of Baby Bounce and Rhyme. Our celebrated entertainers dance and sing favourite children's songs such as 'Lazy Lucy' and 'The Wheels on the Bus' to the delight of their young audience.
