Twin Employment & Training at Lewisham Library
Twin provides free training courses and support to help unemployed candidates back to work. They assist with job searching, CV preparation, applications, and interview techniques. Their recruitment consultants research vacancies and arrange job interviews. Twin will be visiting Lewisham Library every two weeks on Tuesdays, starting on Tuesday 2 March, to promote awareness of their services, give advice on training and qualifications, and register candidates for their programmes.
Tuesday 2 March 2010, 10am-4pm. Then every other Tuesday.

Community Education Taster Day
Community Education Lewisham in collaboration with Lewisham libraries will be attending Downham Spring Community Festival to give residents information about their services. They will also be running activities throughout the day such as British Sign Language workshops and jewellery-making out of recycled material.

The Return at Lewisham Library crime reading group
Love reading? Enjoy discussing books? Then come along to Lewisham Library's crime reading group. We meet on the third Saturday morning of each month. At the next meeting we will be discussing Hakan Nesser's novel The Return. Refreshments provided.

An Evening of death, scandal and writing tips
TV, film and radio director Imogen Robertson and journalist and novelist Rosemary Furber introduce their new novels, Instruments of Darkness and The Most Intimate Place respectively. It’s free to attend with authors happy to share tips on writing technique and getting published. Signed copies available on the night.

Unity Coffee @ Lewisham Library opens
Lewisham Library has a new cafe, as Unity Coffee @ Lewisham Library opened on 1 December. The café provides a range of hot organic and Fairtrade beverages and an array of homemade cakes and pastries. Sandwiches and a dish of the day served with a selection of seasonal salads are also available for eat in or take away. The café is run by the Camden Society, a social enterprise providing jobs for local people with learning disabilities.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme
Bring your baby along to Lewisham library on Thursday mornings or afternoons and join in the fun of Baby Bounce and Rhyme. Our celebrated entertainers dance and sing favourite children's songs such as 'Lazy Lucy' and 'The Wheels on the Bus' to the delight of their young audience.
