Although the Wavelengths library building is closed at the moment for building work, the summer reading challenge is still going ahead.
The summer reading challenge is a national summer event for all children. Children are required to join the library and once members they can take the challenge to read six books from the library.
The six books can be novels, picture books, audio books - any books the children like. All joiners will receive a fold-out poster to keep track of the books they have read. Each time they visit the library (at our alternative venues) the children will receive stickers ranging from Bronze to Gold in addition to small prizes.
When children complete the sixth book they receive a certificate and a medal. There are also some special prizes for those children who have done exceptionally well.
