It can be hard coming to terms with your sexuality. Just accepting that you may be lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) can be the first step in a gradual “coming out” process. It can feel like you’re on your own, that no one understands what you’re going through, and you may fear what might happen if or when people find out.

On the other hand, it may not be that difficult for you. You may have already “come out”, and just want a place to hang out and make friends with other lesbian, gay, or bisexual people your own age.

The Metro Centre offers a confidential space for you to be yourself and work out who you are. We’ve got loads of groups and services you can get involved with! So give us a call on 020 8265 3311.

1-2-1 support and counselling

Got a problem you need to talk through with someone, but don’t know who you can trust?

The Metro Centre offers confidential 1-2-1 support or counselling for young LGB people. This is a place to talk through problems with a worker or counsellor, look at options, and bring about change. This can be on a wide range of issues: coming out (or staying in), work, homophobic bullying, confidence, sex, HIV/AIDS, drugs, loneliness and depression, sexual abuse, racism, relationship and family problems, the gay scene and much more.

If being in a group seems too much or if you need some extra time to sort stuff out, then give us a call. You could access weekly sessions with the same worker to explore the difficulties you are having and work towards changes you would like to make. We’ll support and encourage you and refer you to other services if necessary.
