The Staying Put home improvement scheme provides grants to homeowners who are disabled, because of illness or age for example, and need help with the costs with either:
- repairs to their homes such as roof repairs or rewiring
- facilities such as wheelchair ramps, stair-lifts or hoists.
Who is eligible
A grant for repairs or facilities is means-tested – it will depend on your income.
For the cost of repairs, staff will visit you in your home to assess what is needed, and advise if you can get a Disabled Facilities Grant. This is based on a recommendation from a community occupational therapist because you have a critical or substantial need.
