Linkline, our 24 hour Telecare service, gives you the freedom to live your life independently knowing that you can call for help when you need it.
Linkline provides a high quality, responsive Telecare service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to anyone who feels vulnerable or at risk.
Many older people living alone and younger people with disabilities rely on our service to live independently, safe in the knowledge that they can always get help when they need it.
Who is eligible
The service is available to anyone who feels at risk in their own home because of age, disability, isolation, illness or vulnerability.
How to access the service
You will need to fill in an application form. Once we receive your form we will contact you to arrange a convenient appointment. A unit with a pendant can be installed in your home within a week.
Please note: Your details will be kept on a computer system and are subject to the conditions contained in the Data Protection Act (1998).
All calls to the Linkline Communications Room are recorded. This enables us to monitor the quality of our service and assists in dealing with queries which may arise.
Linkline is a member of the Telecare Services Association and is accredited to the Association's code of practice.
FAQ
How does it work?
A Telecare unit is installed in your home. This is supplied with a pendant which can be worn around your neck or carried anywhere in your home. In the event of an emergency you simply press the button on the pendant or on the Telecare unit and the Linkline Communications Centre is automatically alerted. An experienced member of the staff team will talk to you and will summon assistance to deal with the situation.
What options are available?
We offer two types of service. They are:
- Mobile response: if you call and need help we hold your keys and will visit you in your home to assist you.
- Telephone-on response: if you call us and need help we will telephone a relative or friend who will be able to assist you.
Is there a charge?
Monitoring charges are made for the service, but you do not have to pay for the equipment supplied. Please contact Linkline for our current charges.
What will I need?
You will need to have a modern BT telephone socket and a 3 pin electric point, on the same wall, within 9 feet (2.70m) of each other. If you have an old style BT socket then we can arrange to have this replaced free of charge.
