Energy Efficiency Advice Centre
The Energy Efficiency Advice Centre provides free and impartial information and advice on all energy efficiency issues. Members of staff can undertake over the phone, an initial home energy check survey to assess your needs.

Winter fuel payment helpline
A winter fuel payment is a one off payment to help older people with their winter heating bills. Call the helpline 084 5915 1515 for further information or see the website.
The warm front scheme (private tenants and homeowners only)
If you own or live in a private sector home you may be eligible to access the warm front scheme.
A package worth up to £2,500 is available for measures such as heating system improvements, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, draught proofing, hot water
tank insulation, basic heating, low energy light bulbs and controls.
If you are over 60 central heating can also be installed.
You may be eligible for this scheme if you own or live in a non social housing property and are in receipt of one of the following benefits, such as Income Support, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Working Families Tax Credit, etc. and:
- have children under the age of 16 or
- are over the age of 60 or
- are registered disabled or
- are pregnant (and have a MAP certificate).

Warm and wise (all residents)
If you are not eligible for one of the above schemes, you can still save money by obtaining a discounted quotation for the installation of heating controls, loft insulation or cavity wall insulation.

Solar grants
There are two new grants available to install either solar water heating or photovoltaic (PV) electricity generating cells on your roof.
The solar for London hot water scheme will install solar water heating in your home, supplied and fitted.
Including the grant, this will cost £1200 - £1800 per
home, dependent upon the size of your property.
The Governments PV scheme means that an electricity supply can be supplied and installed on your roof for approximately £6000 including the grant and depending on the size of your property.
