Lewisham Information Sharing and Assessment (LISA) training events are open to staff working in statutory agencies, voluntary community groups and the faith sector who provide support to children, young people and their families in Lewisham. These learning events are approved by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and will cover key aspects of the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda (ECM). Specific modules and courses have been designed to enable staff to learn about the local information sharing processes and practice using the tools they will need to use to do their jobs.
Training is provided to staff across all professional boundaries to ensure understanding of the current child care context, information sharing procedures, legislation and tools to assist implementation.
These are Information Sharing Awareness, Common Assessment Framework and the Lead Professional/key worker, using the LISA electronic system and chairing the ‘Team Around the Child’ meeting and how these will link to ContactPoint (previously known as the national index). There are a set of common messages and subjects included in every training course which include the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda, outcomes and targets and the duties underpinned by the Children Act 2004 and related guidance and the Lewisham safeguarding children thresholds.
