The Council is responsible for the collection and disposal of household refuse. This is a vital service that makes the borough a healthy, safe and clean place to live.
General household rubbish is collected once a week on a scheduled day. Find your bin day.
Our promise
- We collect your refuse on the same day each week (with the exception of Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays).
- We advertise well in advance any changes to the collection service within the local press.
- We give you a date for collection and collect large items within seven days of a request being made at a customer service centre or online.
- We provide facilities for recycling waste.
You can help us:
- Put the refuse out to the edge of your property for emptying. And collect it after emptying; special arrangements can be made if you are unable to do this.
- Msure that when you request removal of large items, these items are easily accessible on the day we have arranged to collect them.
- Use the recycling facilities and compost garden waste.
