Giffin Square

Major public space at the heart of Deptford, strengthening the attraction of the High Street. This development is part of the Deptford Lounge and Tidemill School complex project.

Informed by public consultation (held in May 2008), Giffin Square has been designed as follows:

• a market square and gathering place for the community, including a café with external seating
• a safe and secure place at all times
• the setting for community events such as festivals and maybe an open-air cinema
• forecourt for the proposed Deptford Lounge and Tidemill School
• carefully designed with high quality and robust materials, lighting and street signs to enhance the environment
• public toilets relocated to Deptford Lounge (secure and hygienic temporary toilets will be available during construction)
