We can use our powers to enter premises and disable alarms and charge the owners an average of £500 for our time and the costs of an emergency call out service.
Keyholder scheme for alarmed properties
The Council is collecting details of keyholders for alarm systems for properties in the borough.
This allows us to contact you if your alarm goes off when you are not there. We should, therefore, be able to ensure that the alarm is turned off quickly and with little fuss.
If we do not know the key-holder or are unable to contact a key-holder we may have to use our powers to enter premises and disable alarms. This will result in a charge being made to the owners of around £500 for our time and the costs of calling out an emergency service.
Send us details of key-holders for your house or commercail property
To prevent these high costs, we urge you to give us keyholder details so we can contact you directly in case your alarm has a fault.
Complete the form below and send it to Environmental Enforcement, Wearside Depot, Wearside Road, London SE13 7EZ.
Please complete one form for each keyholder.
