Unitary Development Plan (UDP)

Lewisham Unitary Development Plan Adopted July 2004

This document is the current development plan for the borough. It is the first point of reference for considering planning applications. Anyone considering new development in the borough that requires planning permission e.g. a new housing development, a conversion of housing to flats, the change of use of a shop should consult this document, and take note of the policies that will affect the Council’s decision on your planning application.

For full details see web version of the Adopted Plan Proposals Map by following the link on the right.

Hard copies of the UDP may be inspected at any of the libraries in Lewisham or at our offices in Laurence House.

Copies of the UDP are available to purchase by contacting the planning policy group.

For local businesses and residents of the borough the price is £10. For others the price is £35. Prices include post and packaging.

Expired policies

A number of policies in the UDP expired on 27 September 2007. The remaining policies continue to be saved as part of the development plan. A schedule of policies which have been saved is available here.
