The Council consulted on the first stage of the Local Development Framework process throughout 2005. This stage is known as the issues and options stage.
A series of issues and options papers were prepared for the development of the core strategy and the Development Plans and Site Allocations documents. These covered a wide range of matters for review by the Council. The consultation was carried out in four parts, each part covering different papers.
Part 1
The first part of the consultation covered the following areas:
- Housing
- Urban design and conservation
- Sustainable environment
- Waste management
Part 2
The second part of the consultation covered the following areas:
- Open space and biodiversity
- Employment
- Transport and parking
Part 3
The third part of the consultation covered the following areas:
- Retail and town centres
- Site allocations
Part 4
The fourth part of the consultation covered the following areas:
Sustainability Appraisal
In addition to this consultation, the sustainability appraisal/strategic environmental assessment scoping report for the core strategy and development plans and site allocations documents was consulted upon in May 2005. This report can be found by following the link on the right hand side.
