Core Strategy

Every Council in England is required to prepare a core strategy, the document that sets out the key decisions about how much development will happen in the borough and where, when, and how it will take place.

Lewisham's core strategy covers a 15 year period from 2011 to 2026. The policies laid out in the Core Strategy will help Council to assess all future planning applications, big and small.

The Council has now published its core strategy for public comment. This is the version the Council wants to submit to the Secretary of State for independent examination and adoption.

View a copy of the Core Strategy, including details on how to make comments.

The consultation period is from Friday 19 February 2010 to Tuesday 6 April 2010, all representations must be received by the Council by this date.
