Bromley Road /Southend Supplementary Planning Document

The Bromley Road /Southend SPD will provide guidance for future development as well a baseline document for any future locality base regeneration in the area. This will cover appropriate uses for development sites, height, massing, layout, orientation, density, amenity space and car parking. An assessment of the impact of the redevelopment of the various sites on the locality’s transport, social and economic infrastructure will also be undertaken. The SPD will apply to land surrounding the junction of Bromley Road, and Southend and Whitefoot Lanes – within the Downham and Whitefoot wards.

We are currently consulting on the Scoping Report for the Sustainability Appraisal. The Scoping Report is out for consultation from 14th July to 22nd August 2008.

Public consultation on the draft SPD is expected to take place late Summer 2008.
