Make a planning application

The planning information office is the first place to contact for information on planning related matters. Comprehensive information and guidance on making a planning application can also be found on the Planning Portal (external link), the government's online service for planning.

Application forms

A new series of national standard planning application forms, known as 1APP, have been developed by the Department for Communities and Local Government. From 6 April 2008 applications will only be accepted if submitted on these forms. Find out more information on the new series of standard application forms.

Ahead of the new national requirement, Lewisham will now accept applications submitted on the new form. We will continue accepting old forms until the cut off date, but we encourage applicants to switch the new forms.

Submit application online

The easiest way to submit a planning application is online via the planning portal (external link).

Which form do I need?

If you don’t want to submit an application online and are unsure about which form you need to submit, use the Planning Portals interactive guide (external link). It will help you choose the correct form and let you download it along with guidance notes on how to fill it in.

Downloadable forms

All forms are available from our website. Follow the links on the left hand side to download the forms and guidance notes.
