The council has received a planning application for a development on the south side of Loampit Vale, close to Lewisham town centre. The details of the application are as follows:
- 819 residential units, of which 232 are affordable
- leisure centre, including an eight lane 25m competition pool with seating for 300 spectators and a 20m teaching pool
- 1,050m² floorspace for commercial and office uses
- 621m² floorspace for creative industries
- replacement facilities for the London City Mission, comprising 296m² of floorspace
- a two-storey energy centre to provide a district heating system for the site via a mix of combined heat and power and sustainable fuel source / gas fired boilers designed to optimise CO2 emissions
- 201 car parking spaces and 893 bicycle spaces.
