Recycling champions

Geoffrey Thurley - the 2006 recycling championEach year, the Council looks for the resident who gets more of their street recycling each week, to crown them Lewisham's Recycling Champion.

You can nominate yourself or your hardworking environmentally aware neighbour or friend to win.

We will help nominated residents by providing them with information and a toolkit to so they can make a difference and make their street the best recycling street in Lewisham by recycling all of their paper, cardboard, cans, glass and plastic bottles .

Streets' recycling rates and materials being recycled are measured once all nominations are in and then measured again after three months to find out which street has seen the biggest improvement in recycling behaviour.

A sign is erected in the street where the Recycling Champion lives, recognising all their efforts.
